Giants' Injury Update: Jason Pierre-Paul, Justin Tuck, and the secondary banged up

The New York Giants put up a good fight in the first half, but made too many mistakes on special teams and were dominated in the second half by the Kansas City Chiefs. Sunday's 31-7 loss at Arrowhead Stadium drops the Giants to an 0-4 record this season.

A few key players for the Giants were banged up in Sunday's game, including defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul. JPP left the game in the fourth quarter with a knee injury. The team's medical staff diagnosed Pierre-Paul with a "knee contusion" and said his return to the game was probable, but he did not go back in the game. According to Dan Graziano of ESPN, Pierre-Paul was jogging on the sidelines late in the game, and did not appear to be limping when he left the locker room. If Pierre-Paul is fine, which appears to be the case, it would be a major break for the Giants who need all of the star-power they can get to salvage what remains of this season. Fellow defensive end Justin Tuck left the game with a neck injury, but after the game said he was "fine".

Redskins' Injury Update: Alfred Morris,Logan Paulsen, DeAngelo Hall, Brian Orakpo

The Washington Redskins escaped "The Black Hole" with their first victory of the season, a 24-14 win over the Oakland Raiders. A few key players suffered injuries in the game, but none of them appear to be anything to lose sleep over. Luckily for the Redskins, they are heading into their bye week, so the players who got banged up Sunday will have extra time to get healthy for their Week 6 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys.

Running back Alfred Morris left the game late in the third quarter after a nine-yard run with a rib contusion. The good news however, is Morris said his ribs were only bruised and not fractured, and that he felt fine, according to Chris Russell of ESPN 980. Morris rushed for 71 yards on 16 carries before the injury cut his day short.

Falcons’ Sam Baker leaves with knee injury

The Atlanta Falcons were expected to be a favorite out of the NFC in 2013.  Unfortunately a 1-3 start and a hobbled Roddy White and Steven Jackson has many wondering if this team only looks good on paper.

Atlanta had a chance to tie New England late on Sunday night but found themselves on the losing side of a 30-23 contest with the Patriots.  During the loss the Falcons were dealt another blow as starting Left Tackle Sam Baker had to leave Sunday’s game with a knee injury.

Titans' Jake Locker likely headed to short-term IR

The Tennessee Titans haven't said how long they'll be without starting quarterback Jake Locker, who was sent to the hospital yesterday after suffering a serious hip injury. It appears Tennessee will be without Locker for at least a few weeks, but Ian Rapoport of NFL.com is reporting that the team is likely to place the quarterback on the short-term Injured Reserve list.

Ravens’ Injury Update: Lardarius Webb, Deonte Thompson, Marlon Brown

The Baltimore Ravens lost Sunday to the Buffalo Bills and I think quarterback Joe Flacco just threw another interception to my Bernese Mountain Dog, Bruin.  The Ravens might be destined for mediocrity this season and now they may be without a few more key blackbirds as cornerback Lardarius Webb and wide receivers Deonte Thompson and Marlon Brown suffered injuries in the loss.

Chiefs' Eric Fisher suffers a concussion

Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman Eric Fisher suffered a mild concussion in the Chiefs win over the Giants on Sunday.  Concussions are a serious injury whether they are considered mild or severe, but in this case the Chiefs are optimistic that Fisher will not miss much time.

Raiders lose Darren McFadden, Marcel Reece to injuries

The Oakland Raiders handed the Washington Redskins their first win yesterday. To add injury to insult, the Raiders had to watch a pair of running backs exit the game. Darren McFadden left with a hamstring injury, while Marcel Reece suffered a knee injury, according to Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.

McFadden sustained his hamstring injury in the first half. He was initially ruled questionable to return, but the team later confirmed that he would be out for the remainder of the contest.

Vikings Injury Report: Christian Ponder

Some of the biggest news in the NFL this week was whether or not Christian Ponder would start at quarterback for the Vikings this week. The answer is no, as he will sit with a rib injury. Matt Cassel will start in his place as the team takes on the Steelers in London, looking for their first win of the season.

Fantasy Football: Week 4 start 'em sit 'em

Sunday is here, and that means a lot of football. With a lot of football there comes a lot of fantasy football. This is the first week where we are having to deal with players on bye. With Carolina and Green Bay on bye there's a lot of fantasy owners who are in need of a plug-and-play QB. Here's a look at some players who might serve that role, and some who might already be on your bench.

Cadence Call: AFC East Week 4 game previews

Welcome to Cadence Call where I give you my bootleg breakdown for each game in the AFC East.  Hard to believe it is already Week 4 in 2013 NFL season.  It goes by fast and if you do not stop and smell the footballs, you might miss it.  The NFL season is like your child.  One day you are wiping butts and changing diapers and before you know it, he and his mates are trashing your living room and drinking what is left of your Bourbon.  Remember though, the best thing about kids, is making them.

If you have the means, pair your Week 4 AFC East games with a few pints of Samuel Smith’s Oatmeal Stout and a Padron Serie 1926 No. 2 Maduro.  You will not be disappointed.

Pick it, pack it and light it up.

Cadence Call regular season record (7-10).  Now, on to the game previews.

Cadence Call: AFC North Week 4 game previews

Welcome to Cadence Call where I give my bootleg breakdown for each game in the AFC North.  The weather is getting cold, the leaves are changing, seasonal beers are back on the shelves and NFL football is everywhere, including London, England.  My advice is try to avoid any interaction with your family on Sunday and completely ignore your spouse because the NFL season is in full swing and Week 4 is when we start to see some separation between which teams are the real deal and which are more fake than my overly annoying mother in-law.

Pair these games up with an Alec Bradley Nica Puro Gordo and a few pints of Harpoon Oktoberfest and, if you are like me, keep reminding your obtuse mother in-law that Cheerios are not donut seeds.

Cadence Call regular season record (7-10).  Now, on to the game previews.

Redskins injury report

The Washington Redskins (0-3) journey into the depths of "The Black Hole" Sunday to take on the Oakland Raiders (1-2) in a matchup which both teams desperately need to win. After the Redskins' 38-20 Week 3 loss to the Detroit Lions, wide receiver Pierre Garcon told reporters that quarterback Robert Griffin III was "obviously" not 100 percent. However, the second-year quarterback did not appear on the team's injury report this week.

RGIII may be healthy, but he could be missing both of his starting tight ends when the Redskins battle the Raiders Sunday. Fred Davis was limited in practice all week with a sprained ankle. Davis is listed as questionable to play Sunday. Jordan Reed missed Wednesday's practice and was limited Thursday and Friday with a bruised thigh. Reed is also listed as questionable.

Eagles injury report: Peyton Manning's point proven

The Philadelphia Eagles travel to Colorado in Week 4 to take on the Denver Broncos who have lived up to their billing as Super Bowl favorites early on in the season. Through three games, Peyton Manning and the Broncos offense are averaging 42.3 points, 486.7 total yards, and 374.7 passing yards per game, which are league bests.

Of course even when things are going swimmingly, Manning always finds something to get ticked off about. Earlier this week, Manning voiced his displeasure with the scheduling committee, arguing that the Eagles had an unfair advantage with nearly double the amount of time to prepare for this game than the Broncos did. While Manning's comments made him sound very pessimistic, the Eagles injury report for Week 4 does prove the point he was trying to make.

Injury Concerns for Seahawks Offensive Line

The Seattle Seahawks may very well be without three starting offensive linemen for Sunday's matchup against the Texans. A week after left tackle Russell Okung was placed on the short-term injured reserve list, starting right tackle Breno Giacomini did not participate at all this week with a knee injury and center Max Unger was only able to participate in a limited capacity on Friday, nursing an injury to his arm. Per The Seattle Times, head coach Pete Carroll addressed the concerns Friday:

Our guys are ready to play ball if they are called on to do so. It won't be the story about the guys that aren't playing (but) those guys stepping up and doing their thing. It might be the young guys. If it is, it is. Then we are going to crank it up and go.

Giants injury report: offensive line in shambles

The New York Giants are coming off an abysmal 38-0 loss to the Carolina Panthers, and are subsequently off to their first 0-3 start since 1996. If the G-men are going to salvage whatever is left of their season, it starts with getting a much needed win against the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4. What already appears to be a tall task looks even more insurmountable when you take a look at the Giants' list of inactives for this week.

Protecting quarterback Eli Manning was a consistent issue for the Giants in Week 3 and unless somebody steps up it looks like Sunday could be another long day for Manning. Starting right guard Chris Snee (hip) and center David Baas (neck) were held out of practice this week. Neither of them traveled with the team to Kansas City and are officially ruled out for Sunday. Tight end Adrien Robinson will also miss Sunday's game with a foot injury.

Panthers' Cam Newton Fined $10,000 for Visor

The NFL has fined Carolina Panther quarterback Cam Newton $10,000 for the visor he's been wearing throughout his entire NFL career. The issue the NFL has with Newton's visor is the clips on the visor, specifically the logos visible on the clips. As ESPN notes, the NFL rulebook states:

No invisible identification of a manufacturer's name or logo on the exterior of a helmet or on any attachment to a helmet is permitted unless provided for under a commercial arrangement between the League and manufacturer.

Vikings QB Christian Ponder Week-to-week

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder will miss Sunday's game in London due to a rib injury he suffered in last week's loss to the Browns. Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier confirmed on Friday that the injury is a fracture. According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk, the injury may now jeopardize Ponder's availability moving forward in the weeks to come:

Per a league source, the injury leaves Ponder as a week-to-week proposition. The Vikings are off next week, which means that he'll have two weeks to heal.

Colts Injury Report: Ahmad Bradshaw, T.Y. Hilton, Laron Landry

After coming off a convincing week three win against the San Francisco 49ers, the Indianapolis Colts will travel to Jacksonville this week to play their first division game of the year against the Jaguars. The Colts are dealing with some injuries in their secondary, specifically at their safety position. For the second week in a row, it's unclear who will start at safety for the Colts come Sunday.

Ahmad Bradshaw headlines the Colts injury list for the week. He's already been ruled out against Jacksonville because of a neck injury he suffered in the second quarter against San Francisco. Bradshaw's loss will be felt, but the acquisition of Trent Richardson will ease this pain.

Backup Chad Henne has struggled in Gabbert's absence, posting an unimpressive 68.8 passer rating.

Starting tight end Mercedes Lewis should also see his first game action this season. Lewis has been sidelined with a calf injury since the preseason.

It's undetermined at this point when the veteran back will return. Kenny Britt and Delanie Walker have been added to the injury list this week and should be concerns for Sunday's game. Both Britt and Walker will be important to have for the Tennessee offense on Sunday.

Texans Injury Report: Duane Brown, Andre Johnson, Ed Reed

The Houston Texans will face a big challenge in week four when they host the 3-0 Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. After being questionable for last week's game recovering from a concussion, Andre Johnson will once again be a game-time decision this week. Johnson injured his shin in the week three loss against the Baltimore Ravens.

So far, Johnson's 2013 season has been riddled with injuries. Houston will definitely need his presence on the field for the Texans' offense to be effective against a very good Seattle secondary.

New York Giants (0-3)@Kansas City Chiefs (3-0)

The Giants go to Kansas City pretty beat up.  Their starting center and right guard have already been ruled out for this game.  This is an offensive line that is already struggling, now they will be playing two more back ups against a Kansas City Team that has a very good pass rush.  Justin Houston, Tamba Hali and Dontari Poe have to be licking their chops for this matchup.

Arizona Cardinals lose rookie LB Alex Okafor for the year

The Arizona Cardinals rookie LB Alex Okafor is out for the season, due to a torn bicep.

Rookie Okafor confirmed this report on his twitter and that’s not good news for the Cardinals. The Cardinals have already lost its starting outside linebacker Sam Acho (Broken Leg) and Lorenzo Alexander (foot injury) in Sunday’s loss to the New Orleans Saints. Acho and Alexander were placed on injured reserve ending their season. This happened on Monday and the Cardinals need to find a replacement quick.

The Cardinals drafted Okafor in the fourth round with the 103rd pick from the University of Texas. Okafor was named first-team All-Big12 and First-team All-American in 2011. Furthermore, in his junior season he had 46 tackles and seven quarterback sacks. Cardinals signed Vic So’oto earlier Tuesday. So'oto has appeared in 12 NFL games over two seasons with the Packers, Raiders, and Redskins. The (1-2) Cardinals are in Bradenton, Florida this week in preparation for Sunday’s game against (0-3) Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Fantasy Football: Week 4 start 'em sit 'em WRs

Start Pierre Garcon vs OAK. Despite RGIII's early struggles, the Raiders are giving up 18 catches per game to opposing receivers and Garcon will likely be the benefactor of this stat. The Raiders are also allowing opposing QBs to complete an outstanding 80% of their passes.

Start Demaryius Thomas vs PHI. The Eagles can't defense No. 1 receivers and Bay Bay is the best of the best in this category. Peyton is going to take full advantage. I'm expecting Thomas to have at least two scores from 30+ yards out.

Fantasy Football: Week 4 start 'em sit 'em RBs

Start Daryl Richardson vs SF. The 49ers have allowed 6 touchdowns to opposing RBs in the last 3 games. I know Richardson is coming off of a minor injury, but SF hasn't beaten the Rams since 2011; which was also the last time the Rams lost a division game at home. The Rams are going to play smart football and Jeff Fisher is going to lean heavily on his running specialist. He does come with some risk, but I think his up-side is too good to pass up this week as a RB2 or strong Flex.

Start Matt Forte vs DET. The Lions are going to give up points, but they seem to keep teams out of the end zone within the 10 yard line. What's this mean? Good things for Forte, not so good for Michael Bush. My bold prediction of the week; Forte scores the Bears' every point (except for the XPs obviously). In 10 career games against the Lions, Forte has broken double-digit fantasy points in every game.

Fantasy Football: Week 4 start 'em sit 'em QBs

Start Tony Romo vs SD. The Chargers are giving up the most fantasy points to opposing QBs this year. This game should be close and the Cowboys are going to keep feeding to ball to their 100-million-dollar-man.

Start Terrelle Pryor vs WAS. The Redskins have given up the second most fantasy points to opposing QBs this year. Nothing about this secondary is good, and Pryor seems to get better with every snap.

Jaguars Expect Blaine Gabbert To Start

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley said he expected quarterback Blaine Gabbert to be ready for Sunday's game against the Colts. Gabbert was a full participant in practice Wednesday, after missing the last two games with a laceration on his hand that required 15 stitches to close up. The stitches are out and Gabbert's hopes are high, per Jaguars.com Open Locker Room:

"The last couple of weeks have kind of been a blessing in disguise, to let my hand heal. It gave me a different point of view, and an opportunity to watch things from a different perspective - to really kind of catch up on some of the mental reps and get a little extra preparation in the film room."

Patriots' Sebastian Vollmer Misses Practice Again

For the second consecutive day, New England Patriots right tackle Sebastian Vollmer was absent from practice Thursday. Vollmer missed the second half of last Sunday's victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, after injuring his foot. The Boston Herald reported Wednesday that the injury to Vollmer's foot is not as serious as feared:

According to a source, Vollmer suffered a "foot sprain." While his status for Sunday night's game in Atlanta remains in doubt, he appears to be more of a day-to-day proposition rather than being out for several weeks.

Giants' Chris Snee dealing with sore hip

The New York Giants starting guard Chris Snee has soreness and inflammation in the hip.

This is not good news for the Giants offense line, which has starting center David Baas suffering from a neck injury. Furthermore, a source told Newsday that "Snee underwent an MRI on his surgicial repair hip and came back negative”. The Giants are hoping this is not too serious, because Snee is a key component of the offensive line. The head coach of the Giants Tom Coughlin was asked about Snee's health status and he responded,

Buccaneers replace Josh Freeman with Mike Glennon

There has been talk for some time that Josh Freeman is not Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano's guy. Schiano has denied that he is considering making a change at the quarterback position, with the latest such talk coming as recently as Sunday. However, it appears Tampa Bay is prepared to move in a different direction, as ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting the Bucs have replaced Freeman with rookie Mike Glennon.

Will Reggie Bush play this Sunday against the Bears?

The Detroit Lions running back Reggie Bush said that he would have played against the Redskins last Sunday, but head coach Jim Schwartz decided against having him suit up.

“We have to do what’s right,” Schwartz said. “Every player’s competitive and every player wants to go out there and play. But the injury that he was dealing with was a little different than maybe if he was a quarterback or an offensive lineman or something like that. He can’t control what’s going on when you’re a running back. You can’t control where they’re going to tackle you and things like that.

Raiders place David Ausberry on IR

The Oakland Raiders announced on Monday that they have placed tight end David Ausberry on season ending injury reserve.  The Raiders have promoted offensive guard Lamar Mady from the practice squad to the active 53 man roster.

Ausberry, who is in his third year from USC suffered a shoulder injury in the preseason.  Ausberry hasn't made much of an impact for the Raiders thus far.  In his first two seasons he caught nine passes for 106 yards.  The Raiders lack a true threat at the tight end position, the starter, Jeron Mastrud has only one catch for 41 yards so far this year.

Lamar Mady, who replaces Ausberry was an undrafted free agent from Youngstown State.  Mady will give the Raiders some much needed depth to an offensive line that is already very thin with some key lineman out with injuries.  Now that Terrelle Pryor has suffered a concussion it is uncertain whether he will be able to go next week so the offensive line will need to be at its best because Matt Flynn is not as mobile as Pryor.

Texans’ Andre Johnson day to day with shin injury

Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson entered Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens coming off a concussion. He was limited late in Houston’s loss to Baltimore, but it wasn’t due to the lingering effects of his head injury but instead a new shin ailment. There was concern that the injury would impact Johnson’s availability going forward, but head coach Gary Kubiak told reporters – including Tania Ganguli of ESPN – that the wide receiver is day to day with the shin injury.

Bears lose Henry Melton for the season

In the words of linebacker and teammate Lance Briggs, you can't replace a Henry Melton. Unfortunately, the Chicago Bears will attempt to do just that, after losing their star defensive tackle for the season.

It was a huge win for the Bears on Sunday. They went into the Steel City and pummeled the plummeting Pittsburgh Steelers. It was a dominating statement by the Mark Trestman coached team, that has now improved to 3-0 on the season.

Redskins' Pierre Garcon does not believe Robert Griffin III is healthy

Just a week after saying that quarterback Robert Griffin III has been slowed down by the bulk of his protective knee brace, Washington Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon now says that Griffin is "not fully healthy, obviously", according to the Washington Post.

“He’s running a little bit more. But last year’s RGIII was a lot different from this year’s RG because of his knee. It’s not surprising. We’ve been talking about it the whole offseason. It’s the same question every day on Monday. We can find something else to talk about" Garcon said on Monday.

Cowboys' Miles Austin suffers strained hamstring

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Miles Austin left Sunday's 31-7 win over the St. Louis Rams in the third quarter with a strained left hamstring, according to ESPN Dallas. Austin suffered the injury on a deep pass from quarterback Tony Romo.

The Cowboys do not believe Austin's injury is serious, which is relieving news considering Austin's track record with hamstring injuries that have plagued him in the last two seasons. At the time of the injury the Cowboys had already jumped out to a 24-0 lead over the Rams, but head coach Jason Garret says that Austin could have returned to the game if St. Louis made a comeback.

Browns’ Josh Gordon wants to stay in Cleveland

I took a brown bag beating by taking the Vikings -7 on Sunday.  With running back Trent Richardson gone and reports, rumors, gossip and lies that the Cleveland Browns wanted to trade wide receiver Josh Gordon swirling in the fall breeze, I thought the Vikings would take the Browns to the ice shed, done deal.  I was wrong and after the Browns’ defeat of Minnesota, Gordon made it clear he wants to stay in the Dawg Pound.

Vikings' Injury Report: Greg Jennings, Phil Loadholt, Harrison Smith

Greg Jennings does not have an injury but he missed Friday's practice. He should be available to start for the Vikings on Sunday. Lions' Injury Report: Reggie Bush, Louis Delmas, Nick Fairley

Reggie Bush will not play due to the injury he suffered to his knee in week 2. After missing Wednesday and Thursday, he had a light practice on Friday. However, the Lions felt that it would be in the best interest of Bush's long term health if he remained on the bench Sunday.

Week 3 preview: Rams at Cowboys

St. Louis Rams at Dallas Cowboys

Sunday September 22nd 1:00 PM (EST)

Line: Cowboys by 3

In years past I would've told people to not even bother watching this matchup. The Dallas Cowboys have been the epitome of mediocrity the past couple of years, and the St. Louis Rams have been, how do I say it nicely? The Rams have just been a bad football team. However, since Jeff Fisher has taken over as head coach, the Rams have made strides in the right direction. Last year they were an overtime field goal away from their first non-losing season since 2006.  The Rams have looked good so far this season, beating the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1 and hanging tough in a 31-24 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Now if only they didn't play in arguably the toughest division in football and they brought back those beautiful throwback uniforms, then they'd be in serious business.

Week 3 preview: Lions at Redskins

Detroit Lions at Washington Redskins

Sunday September 22nd 1:00 PM (EST)

Line: Redskins by 2.5

The Washington Redskins host the Detroit Lions in a Week 3 matchup that the 'Skins desperately need to win to prevent their season from getting out of control. Obviously the dreaded 0-3 hole wouldn't spell the end for the 2013 Redskins. However, only five teams have made the playoffs after starting 0-3 since 1978, the year the NFL adopted the 16-game schedule.

A lot of the blame for the Redskins' early struggles has fallen on quarterback Robert Griffin III and the coaching staff for misusing him. While Griffin has not looked like the player he was in his rookie season, the Redskins defense has been absolutely brutal.

Chiefs' Jamaal Charles will not get fined for hit on Eagles' linebacker

The NFL has reviewed the footage from the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Philadelphia Eagles and the crown rule was not broken.

NFL reviewed Thursday’s game where RB Jamaal Charles lowered his helmet into LB Mychal Kendricks, but didn’t draw a penalty. According to Dean Blandino, Charles did not break the crown rule and the officials made the right call. The right call was made because the hit was made inside the tackle box.

Cadence Call: AFC North Week 3 game previews

Welcome to Cadence Call and as you can tell if you have been following this weekly column or you already had a chance to read the AFC East Week 3 game previews, Cadence Call decided to change up the format.  Like it, hate it or do not care, let me know.  There is a good slate of games for the AFC North for Week 3 so grab a Harpoon Oktoberfest and a nip of some Bookers bourbon, a solid Padron 4000 maduro and sit back and let the good times roll.  In addition, remember, guilt is like a bag of bricks, all you have to do is just drop it.

I am McLovin!

Cadence Call regular season record (4-6).  Now, on to the game previews.

Cadence Call: AFC East Week 3 game previews

Welcome to Cadence Call and as you can tell if you have been following this weekly column, Cadence Call decided to change up the format.  I know most people like change as much as they like talking to their wife or significant other when football Sunday rolls around but let us try this out for a week or two.

Now this does not mean you have to give both ears to your Sunday stealing “ball and chain,” when they are giving you static about taking out the trash or doing the dishes.  Maybe give them half an ear, because that will make them feel better and they will get off your back so you have more time to watch football.

In my case, my wife saves up everything she has to talk to me about all week just to start hitting me with verbal annoyances Sunday afternoon at 12:59pm.  Anyway, in the spirit of change, I will pretend to listen this Sunday.

Remember, an island is only an island if you look at it from the water.  Yeah, think about it.

Enough of this eye make-up, let’s get this kicked off.

Cadence Call regular season record (4-6).  Now, on to the game previews.

Week 3 preview: Giants at Panthers

New York Giants at Carolina Panthers

Sunday September 22nd 1:00 PM (EST)

Line: Panthers by 2.5

Hecker's Record: (3-4)

When the New York Giants march into Bank of America Stadium to take on the Carolina Panthers, you can expect to see a battle of two very pissed off 0-2 teams.

The Panthers put up an admirable effort in Week 1 against the Seattle Seahawks, whom many experts consider to be Super Bowl favorites, but lost 12-7 after a Russell Wilson touchdown pass in the 4th quarter. The Panthers thought they clinched a win last week against the Buffalo Bills when they intercepted a pass late in the 4th quarter from rookie quarterback EJ Manuel, but linebacker Luke Kuechly was called for pass interference. Two plays later Manuel connected with wide receiver Stevie Johnson for the game winning touchdown pass with just seconds remaining in the game.

Giants injury report: David Diehl out, Hakeem Nicks probable

The 0-2 New York Giants will visit Charlotte to take on the 0-2 Carolina Panthers this Sunday. Both teams will be in desperation mode when they take the field as no team has started 0-3 and made the playoffs since last millennium. Let's find out who will be making the trip down south and who will be staying home in your Week 3 Giants injury report.

Offensive tackle David Diehl is still recovering from thumb surgery, and will not play Sunday. Adrien Robinson did not practice all week with a foot injury and will also miss Sunday's game. Robinson's absence leaves the Giants very thin at the tight end position. Cornerback Corey Webster (hip) did not participate in practice this week and the Giants have officially downgraded Webster to "out" for Sunday's matchup with the Panthers, according to ESPN's Dan Graziano.
