Injury Concerns for Seahawks Offensive Line

The Seattle Seahawks may very well be without three starting offensive linemen for Sunday's matchup against the Texans. A week after left tackle Russell Okung was placed on the short-term injured reserve list, starting right tackle Breno Giacomini did not participate at all this week with a knee injury and center Max Unger was only able to participate in a limited capacity on Friday, nursing an injury to his arm. Per The Seattle Times, head coach Pete Carroll addressed the concerns Friday:

Our guys are ready to play ball if they are called on to do so. It won't be the story about the guys that aren't playing (but) those guys stepping up and doing their thing. It might be the young guys. If it is, it is. Then we are going to crank it up and go.

Both Unger and Giacomini are listed as doubtful on the team injury report and will be game-time decisions, according to Carroll.

If indeed the Seahawks are without Unger and Giacomini, they might easily be overwhelmed by an aggressive Houston Texans pass rush, which features All-Pro sack master J.J. Watt. The replacements for Unger and Giacomini are expected to be Lemuel Jeanpierre and Michael Bowie, respectively.
