Chicago Bears' Devin Hester Racing Time

Time is the one thing not even Devin Hester can outrun.  Often, athletes are struck down in a normal man's prime by age.  In Hetser's case, his post-30 years may be his most difficult.  With age comes injury.  With injury comes decreased production.  It hasn't quite happened yet, but Mark Potash of the Chicago Sun-Times suggests that Hester's best days may be over.

Hester is one of the best.  There's no doubt about that.  However, at 30 years old, he is a wild card.  On any one of his many kick or punt returns, he could be injured.  That's what happens when players lose a step in the NFL.  The speed of the NFL is almost super-human.  Hester is/was almost super-human.  If age is in fact catching up to him, we will miss out on one of the most exciting shows on the field.  But, Hester isn't done just yet.

Bears Injury Report: Jay Cutler Practicing, Could Start Sunday

Jay Cutler missed Monday night's game against the San Francisco 49ers and the Bears lost.  Chicago can't afford for Cutler to miss much more time.  This is not to say back-up quarterback Jason Campbell caused the team to lose - the Bears' defense can take credit for that - but Chicago needs as much offensive help as they can get.  They may get that this weekend as Cutler participated in practice yesterday for the first time since suffering his concussion.

Cutler participated in a limited practice on Thanksgiving day, and he looks more like he may be able to go on Sunday says Larry Mayer of NFL.com.  With Campbell's rib injury from Monday night, it may work out in the Bears best interest for Cutler to start.  However, with a head injury the decision is almost entirely out of his hands.

Eagles Injury Report: Michael Vick, LeSean McCoy Likely Out for MNF

The Philadelphia Eagles can't catch a break.  After losing in their first full game with Nick Foles as their quarterback, the team was at least hoping they'd have the option of going back to Michael Vick.  However, it looks like both Vick and stand-out running back LeSean McCoy will be out on Monday night.

Both Vick and McCoy are still in phase one of the NFL's concussion protocol, says Jef McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer.  Neither should be able to move on in testing soon enough to be eligible to play Monday night.  This will be the second week in which Vick will sit out.  McCoy, though, was injured last week against the Washington Redskins.

The Buffalo Bills are expected to have running back Fred Jackson and defensive lineman Chris Kelsay back this weekend when they take on the Indianapolis Colts.

Jackson, who was out last Thursday against the Miami Dolphins due to a concussion, is expected to return today for the Bills. As of Monday the running back hadn’t completed all of his concussion protocol, but he was expected to wrap it up yesterday which would make him available for practice today.

If Jackson is able to return against Indianapolis, he would once again split carries with fellow running back C.J. Spiller.

Kelsay has missed two games due to a torn neck ligament. The defensive lineman participated in individual drills on Monday, and he’s expected to practice in some capacity all week. While not a guarantee that he’ll be playing this weekend against the Colts, it is a good sign for the Bills.
