Orlando Scandrick had to leave the Dallas Cowboys' Thanksgiving day game.  He suffered a fractured left hand in the second quarter of the game.  The Cowboys were taking on the Washington Redskins in a division match-up on turkey day.

Scandrick suffered the injury while making a tackle.  He was hit by another teammate.  Scandrick was taken back to the locker room while holding his left arm.  According to Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas, Scandrick was eventually diagnosed with a fractured left hand.  He will undergo surgery on the hand, but he hopes to be back this season.

"Being optimistic, hopefully I'll be back," said Scandrick, whose hand was wrapped after the game. "If there is any way I can play, I will be back."

Scandrick is in his fifth season, all with the Cowboys.  The 25-year old cornerback has three interceptions in his career and 167 tackles.  So far in 2012, Scandrick has 16 tackles.  He has yet to record an interception or a sack.

The Cowboys have been hit hard by injuries of late.  Scandrick's loss will certainly set their defense back a bit.  Scandrick will be the fourth regular starter on defense to miss time due to an injury.  The Cowboys have enough issues without additional injuries, so Scandrick's loss - no matter how long it is - can hurt.
