Bears quarterback Jay Cutler was cleared Saturday by an independent neurologist, the final hurdle for his return to the football field.
Cutler sustained a concussion during Chicago’s 13-6 loss to
the Houston Texans. He wasn’t cleared for last weekend’s matchup with the San
Francisco 49ers, and he was relegated to the sidelines to watch the team’s 32-7
blowout loss.
Cutler entered the weekend listed as questionable, but the
Bears were confident he was ready to retake the field. All that was left was
for the quarterback to receive approval to return from an independent
neurologist.
