While the Dallas Cowboys received more bad injury-related
news regarding their defense yesterday, as linebacker Bruce Carter was placed
on injured reserve, the team is expressing some hope this week that running
back DeMarco Murray may be able to return this weekend against the Philadelphia
Eagles, reports Todd Archer of ESPNDallas.com.

Executive vice president Stephen Jones was not sure Murray would play Sunday against Philadelphia at Cowboys Stadium, but he did not dismiss the possibility either.
Murray has been out since he sustained a foot injury during
an Oct. 14 contest against the Baltimore Ravens. Murray thought he had a good
chance of playing against the Cleveland Browns two weeks ago and then again
versus the Washington Redskins on Thanksgiving Day. However, he was held out of
both of those contests.
Despite missing so much time due to injury, Murray is still
only five yards behind running back Felix Jones as the Cowboys’ leading rusher.
Coach Jason Garrett told reporters that Murray is “chomping at the bit” to
return, and it looks like he’s a candidate to do so this weekend.
