Bears Injury Report: Jay Cutler Practicing, Could Start Sunday

Jay Cutler missed Monday night's game against the San Francisco 49ers and the Bears lost.  Chicago can't afford for Cutler to miss much more time.  This is not to say back-up quarterback Jason Campbell caused the team to lose - the Bears' defense can take credit for that - but Chicago needs as much offensive help as they can get.  They may get that this weekend as Cutler participated in practice yesterday for the first time since suffering his concussion.

Cutler participated in a limited practice on Thanksgiving day, and he looks more like he may be able to go on Sunday says Larry Mayer of NFL.com.  With Campbell's rib injury from Monday night, it may work out in the Bears best interest for Cutler to start.  However, with a head injury the decision is almost entirely out of his hands.

Cutler has 12 touchdowns against 10 interceptions this season.  He has been known to air it out, but he has also been known to get picked off a lot.  In his career, Cutler has 129 touchdowns and 96 interceptions.  So far this season, Cutler has 1,814 yards passing.

Chicago brought Cutler on to open up their offense.  They also brought on Brandon Marshall to help Cutler.  Mashall and Cutler have a close relationship from their day of playing in Denver together.  While Cutler has his flaws, the Bears are better when he is playing.  If he can go on Sunday, Chicago has a chance to maintain its lead in the NFC North.
