49ers Injury Report: Kyle Williams, Kendall Hunter, Ted Ginn Jr.

While the San Francisco 49ers were able to defeat the New Orleans Saints yesterday, the victory came with a cost as wide receiver Kyle Williams and running back Kendall Hunter sustained injuries that could sideline them for an extended period, reports Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com.

The 49ers' victory may have come at a cost, as receiver Kyle Williams and running back Kendall Hunter sustained injuries that could keep both players sidelined for an extended period.

Williams suffered a significant left knee injury and the team immediately ruled him out for the remainder of the contest. A source told CSNBayArea.com that the injury is “not good.”

Hunter exited due to a left ankle sprain and was later seen on crutches and wearing a boot on his foot. Both Williams and Hunter are set to undergo MRIs today to determine the extent of their injuries.

Hunter’s injury could move Brandon Jacobs, who saw his first action of the season yesterday, into a role as Frank Gore’s primary backup. Williams was the team’s No. 3 wide receiver.

Beyond Williams and Hunter, wide receiver and return man Ted Ginn Jr. was also injured during yesterday’s game. He sustained a wrist injury.
