The Detroit Lions running back Reggie Bush said that he would have played against the Redskins last Sunday, but head coach Jim Schwartz decided against having him suit up.
“We have to do what’s right,” Schwartz said. “Every player’s competitive and every player wants to go out there and play. But the injury that he was dealing with was a little different than maybe if he was a quarterback or an offensive lineman or something like that. He can’t control what’s going on when you’re a running back. You can’t control where they’re going to tackle you and things like that.
“I for sure could have played today, I just don’t know if I could have took a hit today on it. I practiced Friday, did a workout Saturday, and ran. Everything was normal. I just wasn’t sure if I could take a hit yet. So that was the risk that we were dealing with. But this week I’ll be fine". Schwartz response to Bush saying he will play this Sunday according to Birkett twitter account.

Bush thought otherwise that he could have played last Sunday and told Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press.

Reggie Bush said he plans to play Sunday. Schwartz said "we'll see."The indications are clearly stating that Bush would give it a go against division rival the Chicago Bears, but it all depends if he has a setback this week at practice. The Lions used running back Joique Bell, who had 20 carries for 63 yards and caught four receptions for 69 yards against the Redskins. The question is will Schwartz let him play? Stay tune this decision will be made later on this week or Sunday.
