The New England Patriots battle the Atlanta Falcons Sunday
night. Who is in? Who is out?
Find out, in your New England Patriots Week 4 injury report.
Cornerback, Marquice Cole (hamstring) was listed on this week’s injury report. However, the Patriots released him on Friday.
The Patriots have one player listed as out; wide receiver Mathew Slater (wrist) did not participate all week.
The Patriots have three players listed as probable and they are TE Zach Sudfeld (hamstring), defensive lineman Vince Wilfork (foot) and linebacker Jerod Mayo (ankle). All players were full participation on Friday.
The Patriots have eight players listed as questionable and all were limited participation all week. They are running back Brandon Bolden (knee), offensive lineman Will Svitek (knee), RB Leon Washington (thigh), tight end Rob Gronkowski (back/forearm), defensive back Nate Ebner (ankle), WR Danny Amendola (groin), cornerback Kyle Arrington (groin) and offensive lineman Sebastian Vollmer (foot).
All the talk all week centered on Gronkowski and Amendola. Are they in or are they out. If you have been following me all week, you know my take on it. Flying under the radar is the injury to Vollmer. If Vollmer does not play, Marcus Cannon will start and that means he will most likely go against Falcons pass rusher Osi Umenyiora. This could be a big issue for the Patriots Sunday night.
Same rule all season will apply to the Patriots. Any player on the injury report not listed as out has a chance to see action on any given game day. The exception this week is Cole, who was released.
UPDATE:
According to Mike Florio of NBCSports, Gronkowski and Amendola did not make the trip with the team to Atlanta and are out for Sunday night's game. Amendola I expected, Gronkowski is a big surprise and the Patriots will have to explain why Gronkowski was left off the injured reserve designated for return list if he was not going to play through Week 4.
