New York Jets cornerback, Dee Milliner, injured his hamstring
in practice on Wednesday, reports Josh
Alper of NBCSports. Milliner left
practice early earning himself a limited participation on Wednesday’s injury
report.
The Jets’ rookie and ninth overall in the 2013 NFL draft has had an inauspicious start to his NFL career. Milliner missed the Jets’ spring workouts because he was rehabbing a torn labrum and then missed the beginning of training camp due to contract issues. In addition, Milliner missed two of the team’s preseason games with an Achilles injury and then received a first class ticket on the pine train in the Week 2 loss to the Patriots.
The Jets have not had that much success in replacing Milliner in the previous weeks. Kyle Wilson started in place of Milliner against Buffalo, but earned his own first class ticket on the pine train with penalties on four, yes four, consecutive plays.
Jets head coach, Rex Ryan, was not forthcoming when discussing if Wilson would start this week, telling reporters, “I don’t know about that. We’ll see. Will he start in some defenses? Absolutely.”
Darrin Walls got the gift that keeps on giving and took over for Wilson against Buffalo while Wilson got the Dunce cap for being undisciplined in his play. If I had to fancy a guess, I would say there is an excellent chance Walls sees action on Sunday.
Look for my final Jets’ injury report before game day and stay with me for any updates on Milliner and the rest of your J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets.
