The San Diego Chargers had to start the regular season without linebacker Manti Te'o due to the rookie's lingering foot injury. Yesterday, Te'o was able to practice fully for the first time since suffering his injury, leading him to proclaim to reporters -- including Marty Caswell of 1090 Sports Radio -- that he's "ready to go."
The Chargers defense can certainly use any help it can get at this point. Te'o has the opportunity to step in and make a difference on a unit that has been lackluster thus far. With the progress he's made since suffering his injury over a month ago, Te'o feels he's poised to make his debut this weekend against the Dallas Cowboys.
Considering Te'o has yet to play in a regular-season game, it will be understandable if it takes him some time to get comfortable, especially since the players he's going up against have had three weeks of action under their belts already. Whatever the case, it's good for the Chargers to get their second-round pick on the field to see what he can do.
