Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson entered Sunday’s
game against the Baltimore Ravens coming off a concussion. He was limited late
in Houston’s loss to Baltimore, but it wasn’t due to the lingering effects of
his head injury but instead a new shin ailment. There was concern that the
injury would impact Johnson’s availability going forward, but head coach Gary
Kubiak told reporters – including Tania Ganguli of ESPN – that the wide
receiver is day to day with the shin injury.
Johnson sustained his injury during the second quarter of
Houston’s loss to the Ravens. He underwent X-rays during halftime and was able
to return to the game. However, he ultimately exited the contest in the second
half after noticeably favoring his injured leg.
The shin injury had Johnson limping around the field, and he
was largely ineffective after suffering it. Considering the X-rays were
negative and the Texans are considering him day to day so early in the week, it
would seem to be pointing that Johnson will be available for this weekend’s
matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.
