Dolphins’ Cameron Wake out with sprained knee

Omar Kelly of the Sun Sentinel reports that Miami Dolphins pass rushing specialist, Cameron Wake, has a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee.

Wake suffered the injury early on in Miami’s win over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.  Wake is Miami’s best pass rusher and has recorded two and a half sacks so far this season.  Wake leads a tough Dolphins’ defense, which is a big part to their 3-0 start.

Coming to the Dolphins in 2009 from the Canadian Football League, as of 2012, Wake has 43 sacks and seven forced fumbles.

Wake could miss at least three weeks.  Derrick Shelby replaced Wake on Sunday and look for him to get the start against the New Orleans Saints Monday night.

Shelby has five tackles, two sacks and two forced fumbles this year.
