The Arizona Cardinals rookie LB Alex Okafor is out for the season, due to a torn bicep.
Rookie Okafor confirmed this report on his twitter and
that’s not good news for the Cardinals. The Cardinals have already lost its
starting outside linebacker Sam Acho (Broken Leg) and Lorenzo Alexander (foot
injury) in Sunday’s loss to the New Orleans Saints. Acho and Alexander were
placed on injured reserve ending their season. This happened on Monday and the Cardinals need to find a replacement quick.
The Cardinals drafted Okafor in the fourth round with the
103rd pick from the University of Texas. Okafor was named first-team
All-Big12 and First-team All-American in 2011. Furthermore, in his junior season he
had 46 tackles and seven quarterback sacks. Cardinals signed Vic So’oto earlier
Tuesday. So'oto has appeared in 12 NFL games over two seasons with the Packers, Raiders, and Redskins.
The (1-2) Cardinals are in Bradenton, Florida this week in preparation for Sunday’s game against (0-3) Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
