Cincinnati Bengals cornerback, Adam Jones, was arrested for
disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor, reports Michael
David Smith of NBCSports.
Early Monday morning, Jones was a passenger in a car that was stopped for speeding. The driver of the car was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence after the driver refused a field sobriety test.
Arrested for disorderly conduct, Jones was released on his own recognizance. Not only is Jones a football player, a musician and a wrestler, he is also someone who is consistently in trouble with the law.
Jones has been arrested eight times since being drafted in 2005. Most recently, Jones was arrested for punching a woman in a Cincinnati pub. A trial for that incident is set for sometime in October of this year.
Not all of the facts are out concerning this most recent incident. However, given Jones’ history of misconduct, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will most certainly be looking into this latest close encounter with the law and may have to come down hard on Jones.
Stay with me for updates, as this is a developing story.
UPDATE:
Michael
David Smith of NBCSports reports that Jones paid the $130 fine and court
cost related to his disorderly conduct citation. Jones apparently got into trouble because he
relentlessly screamed obscenities at the police officer who stopped his wife
for driving while intoxicated. Jones
was upset that the officer did not have a warrant to stop the car.
As all of you know, a police officer does not need a warrant to pull over a vehicle. Jones on the other hand views our laws differently. What gets lost in all of this is that his wife was driving drunk, and that is the sad part.
