Jaguars Injury Report: Blaine Gabbert, Maurice Jones-Drew, Mercedes Lewis

The Jacksonville Jaguars will take the field on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts with a few key starters returning to the lineup. Among the most anticipated, young quarterback Blaine Gabbert will make his first start since the season opener. Backup Chad Henne has struggled in Gabbert's absence, posting an unimpressive 68.8 passer rating.

Starting tight end Mercedes Lewis should also see his first game action this season. Lewis has been sidelined with a calf injury since the preseason.

Here is the full injury list for the Jaguars in week four:

Will Play: Alan Ball (groin), Will Blackmon (head), Blaine Gabbert (hand), Maurice Jones-Drew (ankle), Mercedes Lewis (calf), Roy Miller (elbow/knee), Uche Nwaneri (knee), J.T. Thomas (hamstring)

For the first time all season, the Jaguars will get back more players than they'll rule out. Gabbert's hand has fully healed and the young QB will make his second start this season. Ball will also return this week after missing last week's loss against the Seattle Seahawks with a groin injury.

Jones-Drew took limited reps in practice this week to not risk re-injuring his ankle, but he should be ready to play against Indianapolis. Miller has also been playing with a nagging injury and was limited in practice, but he appears in better shape than in previous weeks.

Lewis will be an important addition on Sunday. The 6-foot-6 tight end will play a key role in the Jaguars' offense this week. Jacksonville has definitely missed his presence in the passing game this season.

Out: Mike Brown (back), Stephen Burton (concussion), Dwayne Gratz (ankle), Dwight Lowery (concussion)

Gratz will sit out for a third straight week with an ankle injury. Blackmon will get the start in Gratz's place. Receivers Brown and Burton have also been ruled out, and Lowery has sat out all week after suffering a concussion in the game against San Diego.

Stay tuned for more Jaguars' injury news.
