It looks like the Redskins will have running back Alfred Morris back on the field this Sunday night when they square up with the Dallas Cowboys in a crucial NFC East showdown. Morris exited Washington's 24-14 Week 4 win over the Oakland Raiders in the third quarter with bruised ribs.
Morris told Tarik El-Bashir of CSN Washington that "all is well" with him and his bruised ribs. He also said he was going to experiment with different types of torso padding in practice this week to protect himself from aggravating the injury. Morris called wearing additional padding "annoying".
Having Morris back in the backfield is tremendous news for the Redskins. Morris' presence alone changes the entire dynamic of Washington's offensive gameplan, as it keeps opposing defenses on their heels when they have to account for him as well as quarterback Robert Griffin III and his arsenal of weapons. In two wins against the Cowboys last year, Morris rushed for 313 yards and four touchdowns.
