Cowboys' Anthony Spencer underwent season-ending knee surgery

Dallas Cowboys defensive end Anthony Spencer had season-ending knee surgery on Tuesday, Todd Archer of ESPNDallas.com reports.
Spencer's goal is to be fully healthy by January or February, before he becomes a free agent in March. He will have to show teams that he is able to play and pass a physical before a team makes a commitment. Spencer, 29, won't be making as much money as he is used to because of the injury he suffered this year. He probably won't be getting the same amount he received in Dallas, $10.6 million.

George Selvie will remain the starter for the rest of the year on the opposite side of DeMarcus Ware. Spencer will have to be willing to take a pay cut, because if not it will become very difficult for him to find a job. He was drafted by the Cowboys in 2007 with the 26th pick in the first round. Spencer has played 91 games for the Cowboys, including 32.5 sacks and 12 forced fumbles.
