The San Diego Chargers have decided to place WR Malcom Floyd on season ending IR after suffering a scary neck injury a couple weeks ago against the Eagles. Floyd went and got a second opinion from Robert Watkins a spine specialist, which led to him being put on IR. The Chargers don't want to take the risk of further injuring the neck, but according to Floyd's agent he will be ready to go next year.
This could be a big loss for the Chargers, but early in the year it hasn't seemed to bother Phillip Rivers. Rivers has been sharp this year and it seems like he has a really good chemistry with his all of his playmakers. Rivers was recently named AFC player of the week for his week four performance against the Cowboys.
