Texans Injury Report: Brian Cushing, Owen Daniels, Andre Johnson

The Houston Texans travel to San Francisco to play the 49ers on Sunday. The team has already received good news on the injury front. Pro Bowl inside linebacker Brian Cushing has been cleared to play after suffering a concussion near the end of last week's loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

This was already Cushing's second concussion this season, but this one didn't appear to be too serious. The veteran linebacker has already returned to action within the week after being limited in practice. Star receiver Andre Johnson was also limited in practice as late as Thursday with a shin bruise he suffered in week three, but Johnson should start on Sunday against the 49ers.

Here is a complete list of the Texans' week five injury list.

Will Play: Brian Cushing (concussion), Owen Daniels (knee), Arian Foster (thumb/back), Ed Reed (hip/abdomen), Darryl Sharpton (foot/hip), Wade Smith (knee), Ben Tate (shoulder), J.J. Watt (groin/nose)

The Texans have a long list of players pegged as "probable" for this week. Cushing, Reed, and Watt being some of the more noteworthy. The image of Watt's bloody nose was nearly iconic in last week's loss against Seattle. However, the former defensive player of the year should be ready to start this week against the 49ers.

Running backs, Arian Foster and Ben Tate, are both dealing with lingering injuries, but these bumps and bruises shouldn't keep them out of the lineup.

Questionable: Duane Brown (toe), Andre Johnson (shin)

Johnson left last week's loss momentarily with the shin still bothering him. The Texans' receiver suffered the injury in week three against Baltimore and it seems to be lingering longer than originally expected. The emergence of rookie receiver DeAndre Hopkins has helped in the passing game with Johnson limited. The Texans are still awaiting the time when they'll have both starting receivers fully healthy.

Brown will be a game-time decision, but after practicing late in the week, his chances for playing look good.

Out: Brandon Brooks (toe), Tim Dobbins (hamstring)

Brooks and Dobbins are the only two player officially ruled out of Sunday's game. As the starting right guard, Brooks' loss could be felt against a stout San Francisco defensive front. Either Ben Jones or Cody White will get the start instead. Dobbins will miss his second straight game with the hamstring injury.

Stay tuned for more Texans' injury updates . . .
