The New England Patriots battle the Cincinnati Bengals
Sunday afternoon. The New Englanders
look to stay undefeated so who is in and who is out? Find out, in your New England Patriots Week 5
injury report.
The gargantuan news this week is that the Patriots placed all world nose tackle, Vince Wilfork, on the injured reserve list ending his season. Big Vince tore his Achilles last week.
The Patriots have one player listed as out; running back Stevan Ridley (knee) did not participate all week.
There is one player listed as doubtful, wide reciever Matthew Slater (wrist) did not participate all week.
The Patriots have two players listed as probable and they are cornerback Kyle Arrington (groin) limited participation and offensive lineman Will Svitek (knee) limited participation.
The Pats have 10 players listed as questionable and all 10 players were limited participation. The most notable is tight end Rob Gronkowski (back/forearm).
Rumblings out of Foxborough are that Gronkowski is unlikely to play on Sunday. This mini-saga honestly is becoming annoying and it makes the Patriots look bad. The Patriots obviously felt that Gronkowski would be ready by this time or they would have put him on the injured reserve designated for return list. Reports are that Gronkowski practices just fine so the delay in his return remains a Massachusetts mystery.
Adam Schefter via twitter reports that Gronkowski is not travelling to the Jungle and is out for Sunday's game:
I guess Gronkowski is not playing on Sunday, maybe he is hanging out with Brandon Stokley.
The other nine players listed as questionable are:
WR Danny Amendola (groin)
Same rule all season will apply to the Patriots. Any player on the injury report not listed as out has a chance to see action on any given game day. The exceptions this week are Slater, Wilson and Gronkowski. Slater still has a cast on his wrist and did not participate all week and Gronkowski is not making the trip.
