Earlier reports have New York Jets quarterback, Mark Sanchez,
having surgery to repair a torn labrum in his throwing shoulder. As Michael
David Smith of NBCSports tells us, Sanchez has pulled the throttle back on
that.
Smith reports that Chris Mortensen of ESPN claims Sanchez still wants to rehab his shoulder and has no definite plans for surgery yet. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported previously that Sanchez wanted to give rehab another chance but acknowledged that surgery might be his only option.
As far as the Jets are concerned, it is irrelevant whether Sanchez has the surgery, the days of Sanchez wearing the green and white are short lived. The Jets are quarterback Geno Smith's team now and having surgery or not having surgery is not going to change that.
What is best for Sanchez now is to have the surgery on the Jets’ dime and come back stronger and better and put the bright lights of New York City in his rearview mirror and set the GPS for Jacksonville.
