When asked about his lack of playing time after the game, Winslow responded, “I don’t think that would be a good choice.” Quarterback Geno Smith reportedly stated that Winslow was "frustrated."
The Jets are winning and Winslow is contributing. There should be no complaining. However, Winslow is a "me" player always has been and always will be. In this case, the apple does fall far from the tree. His legendary TE father in name only was the ultimate football warrior and always put his team before himself.
What will happen now that the Jets brought in Patriots' castaway TE Zach Sudfeld? Winslow just might be so angry he will eat his chinstrap.
The Jets' top ranked defense took a hit today as Darin Gantt of NBCSports reports that Jets' linebacker, Antwan Barnes, is out for the year with a knee injury. The Jets placed Barnes on the injured reserve list, replacing him on the roster with outside linebacker Ricky Sapp.
Coming from the San Diego Chargers, Barnes backed-up starters Quinton Coples and Calvin Pace. Barnes has two sacks this season coming in as a situational pass rusher.
