The Buffalo Bills were one of the teams hoping to sign Josh
Freeman (signed with Vikings) and this Monday morning named practice squad
quarterback, Thad Lewis, the starter
for Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals. However, Josh
Alper of NBCSports reports that the Bills are still kicking the tires of re-tread
QBs like Pat White and Dennis Dixon.
Reports are that both White and Dixon visited Orchard Park over the weekend with earlier reports that the Bills wanted White to stay in Buffalo.
Alper reports that White will leave Buffalo and head to Oakland to work out for the Raiders on Tuesday. The Bills did not follow up with Dixon, signaling that the team has little or no interest in signing him.
Drafted 44th overall in the 2009 NFL draft by the Miami Dolphins, White had a stint this preseason with the Washington Redskins after being out of the NFL the past two seasons. The Skins waived White in mid-September.
