After suffering his hamstring injury during yesterday's game, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick told reporters that he didn't believe it was anything serious. He might have underestimated the ailment, as ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that Vick is expected to miss Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
As Schefter indicated in his tweet, that means the Eagles will continue rolling with backup quarterback Nick Foles. After Vick exited yesterday's game, Foles came in and helped the Eagles claim their second victory of the season, moving them into a tie for first place of the uninspiring NFC East.
Vick was expected to miss time this season, as he's only made it through a full year once in his entire professional career. Head coach Chip Kelly dragged out the competition for the starting quarterback during the preseason, likely in order to prepare Foles as much as he could. The second-year pro is poised to get another game to prove his ability. The Eagles are still determining if Foles is a long-term option as their starting quarterback.
