The Tennessee Titans open up their season against the Pittsburg Steelers on Sunday with a few key players listed as game-time decisions. The good news is the Titans are getting healthier on offense and should have all their receivers back for Jake Locker and the Titans' passing game to square off against the tough Pittsburg defense.
Will Play
Kendall Wright - Wright missed most of the preseason with a knee injury, but the second-year receiver has fully recovered and is ready to play for the season opener against the Pittsburg Steelers. Wright will play behind starters Kenny Britt and Nate Washington but should get a lot of playing time in the multiple receiver sets.
Delanie Walker - After spending a majority of camp on the team's PUP list, Walker is ready to play Sunday. The veteran tight end was signed in free agency but didn't play until the team's preseason finale after recovering from knee surgery.
Game Time Decisions
Akeem Ayers - Ayers is listed as 'questionable' for the game. The third-year linebacker has been dealing with an ankle injury, but Ayers returned to practice this week. Despite early reports from the week stating Ayers was ready to play for the opener, the young linebacker dealt with some ankle soreness and will now be a game-time decision.
Dave Stewart - The veteran right tackle miss a majority of practice this week with a calf injury. Stewart is 'questionable' for the season opener today, and if he's not ready to go, the team will rely on Byron Stingily to start at right tackle.
Out
Quinn Johnson - Johnson was placed on the teams injured reserve list over the weekend after suffering a quad injury during practice this week. Collin Mooney was brought up from the practice squad to start at fullback on Sunday.
Zaviar Gooden - The rookie outside linebacker will sit out the preseason opener with an ankle injury. It's undetermined at this point how many games Gooden will miss this season. Second-year linebacker Zach Brown was named the team's starter at OLB for the season, so Gooden's loss shouldn't impact the team too much just yet.
Stay tuned for more Titans' injury updates.
