Eagles’ Jason Peters exits with mild hamstring strain

Injuries are already piling up for the Philadelphia Eagles, making the start of the 2013 campaign eerily similar to last season. After losing Jeremy Maclin for the season, offensive tackle Jason Peters exited yesterday’s practice session early. Luckily for the Eagles, the ailment isn’t viewed as significant, as Peters is reportedly dealing with a mild right hamstring strain, according to Reuben Frank of CSN Philadelphia.

Head Coach Chip Kelly told reporters that the injury isn’t serious, but the Eagles are still likely to take things slow with Peters considering his injury history and the fact that he’s dealing with a hamstring ailment. Even though it’s termed minor at this point, hamstrings are easily aggravated if players do not receive the proper treatment and rest.

Peters missed all of last season after suffering an Achilles injury. The Eagles are counting on him to solidify a revamped offensive line, a unit that was one of the worst in the NFL last year.
