As a lifelong New Englander, one would think that I would have a swordfish hold of things to say about Patriots cornerback, Ras-I Dowling.  Cricket sounds.  However, I will say this; one cannot make the club from the tub.

John Breech of CBSSports reports that the New England Patriots have released Dowling, the first pick in the second round of the 2011 NFL draft.

The reason I have zero to say about Dowling is that Dowling had zero impact on the field.  Dowling made a date with the bug in the tub and he could never break it.  Dowling missed 14 games in 2011 after rupturing his patellar tendon and missed most of the 2012 season with torn quadriceps.

I have no idea where Dowling will end up.  For all I know he might pull a Ra’s al Ghul in Batman Begins and be back as a Patriot because head coach Bill Belichick hates the fact that he made a mistake on Dowling.  Coach Belichick loves his second round picks more than a sweet tooth chubby loves his Dum Dums.  

Wherever he ends up, I hope that team has plenty of Tiger Balm (I love that stuff) and a season’s worth of Skin So Soft.
