Falcons unsure of Roddy White’s Week One availability

Since being taken 27th overall in 2005, Roddy White has been quite the iron man for the Atlanta Falcons.  White has played in all 128 games during his illustrious eight-year career.  That streak is in jeopardy due to an ankle sprain he suffered in the Falcons’ second preseason game on August 15th.
Head coach Mike Smith has approached the situation with a different tone stating that White will be available for Week One and has claimed that White did not experience a high ankle sprain which would have put his iron man streak in serious doubt.

White is coming off his sixth straight 1,000 yard campaign and will continue to contribute to the high powered Falcons offense with fellow wide out Julio Jones and future Hall of Fame tight end Tony Gonzalez.  We’ll monitor this situation as the season approaches but for now it appears that the glass is half full.
