Josh
Alper of NBCSports reports that Miami Dolphins third overall pick in the
2013 NFL draft, Dion Jordan, has returned to practice and declared that he is ready
and available for Week 1.
Slowed most of preseason with problems with his surgically repaired shoulder, Jordan, who did not play in the preseason finale, told reporters “If they need me to play [Week 1] then I will be out there.”
Jordan’s team first mentality is a good sign for the Dolphins and this will prove his mettle with teammates and coaches. Unlike a certain New York Jets wide receiver who wants what is best for “me,” Jordan wants what is best for “we.”
Miami does have depth on the defensive line (Cameron Wake and Olivier Vernon) when the Fish play the Cleveland Browns in Week 1. Look for Miami to do Jordan a solid and limit his snaps to rest his shoulder and give him the best chance to impress in his first NFL regular season game.
