Bills’ Stephon Gilmore out 6-8 weeks with fractured wrist

Somewhere at One Patriot Place, Foxborough, Massachusetts, Bill Belichick and Tom Brady just smiled again.  Buffalo Bills second-year cornerback, Stephon Gilmore, will miss 4-6 weeks with a fractured wrist, reports Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com.

The Buffalo Bills just announced that rookie quarterback, Jeff Tuel, would start Week 1 against the New England Patriots and now with the Gilmore announcement, the Bills must feel like they are on the run.

Bills defensive coordinator, Mike Pettine, who was hired this season from the New York Jets, was counting on Gilmore being “Gilmore Island” when it came to covering the opposing team’s best wide receivers.  Pettine is creative defensively and likes to use multiple defensive schemes.  Gilmore’s departure will limit Pettine’s bag of tricks and make it that much harder for the Bills to keep the score of the games manageable.

Time is running out for the Bills this season.  However, one of these days, the Bills will catch a break.  Just do not look for it to happen anytime soon.
