The New York Giants announced Monday via the team's official website that defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul has been activated from the physically unable to perform list, and has been cleared to practice.
Pierre-Paul underwent back surgery in June and missed all of training camp. He worked on individual drills in Monday's practice, and said that the individual drills he was going through during his rehab were more difficult than the drills in practice.
Although returning from the PUP list is a great sign for JPP, he is still not ready to make any promises pertaining to his status for Week 1's matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.
Pierre-Paul's health is relieving news for the Giants defense which has been crippled by injuries this summer. JPP's presence as a pure pass rusher will take a lot of pressure off of their short handed secondary. The Giants were thrilled to welcome their top defensive player back, now they have to cross their fingers and hope they can stay healthy as they prepare for the regular season.
