Houston Texans running back Arian Foster was not cleared to
join his teammates for the start of training camp due to a lingering calf
injury that he suffered earlier this offseason. When camp began, head coach
Gary Kubiak told reporters that he wasn’t sure when he’d have his star cleared
to join the rest of the team. However, Kubiak is now a lot more optimistic
regarding Foster’s status, as he told Josina Anderson of ESPN that he’s hoping
the Pro Bowler is back on the field at some point this week.
Gary Kubiak to me on Arian Foster's return from a strained calf/PUP: "I'm hoping midweek something like that that he is back on the field."

Foster has said that he is not willing to return to the
field until he feels 100-percent confident in his calf. It sounds like he’s
getting close to that point, as Kubiak expects to have him back on the practice
field in the next few days.
Even when Foster does return, the Texans figure to take it
slow with him. The last thing he or Houston wants is for aggravation to set in
and cause him to miss and even more extended stretch.
