Redskins’ Keenan Robinson out for season with pectoral injury

The Washington Redskins announced yesterday that second-year linebacker Keenan Robinson will miss the entire 2013 season after suffering a torn pectoral muscle during Thursday’s practice session, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.

It’s the same injury that ended Robinson’s rookie campaign, suffering the injury on Thanksgiving Day against the Dallas Cowboys. He appeared in 11 games for the Redskins last season, totaling 11 tackles over the span. Last year, he suffered his injury to his other pectoral muscle.

The Redskins selected Robinson in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft. As such, they were likely looking for him to take the next step forward this season, improving on his production as a reserve player last year.
