Ravens' Jacoby Jones fails conditioning test; placed on non-football injury list

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones failed a conditioning test for the team this week and was placed on their non-football injury list according to NFL.com’s Albert Breer.

The Ravens speedy wide receiver known as “the Dragonfly” has had quite a hectic offseason. Since helping the Baltimore Ravens win the Super Bowl in February, he has been a contestant on “Dancing with the Stars” as well as making several appearances on the NFL Network’s daily programming; and that has been in addition to the normal rigors and appearances demanded of a Super Bowl winner such as endorsements and media interviews.

The Ravens are hoping Jones can step up big this year with the departure of pro bowl wide receiver Anquan Boldin. After all, Baltimore shelled out a ridiculous amount of money for quarterback Joe Flacco and it's clear the team intends to play to their Super Bowl MVP’s strengths. Management has invested in quicker, down-field threats on the outside like Torrey Smith and Jacoby Jones to complement Flacco’s big arm and the Ravens effective run-game. Given the recent developments, the returning champs may be a bit nervous about Jones’ 2013 productivity given his apparent lack of physical conditioning going into training camp.
