From the gutter to the stars, the fall from grace can be hard and fast, yet the NFL can always seem forgiving and willing to give people with proven talent second chances.
That is the case with running back Peyton Hillis, who is reportedly going to train with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week, according to Jenna Laine of Sports Talk Florida:
Drafted by the Denver Broncos in 2008, he spent two years in Denver before being traded to the Cleveland Browns in 2010. Hillis rushed for 1,177 yards with 477 yards receiving and 13 touchdowns.
However, Hillis could not repeat the magic the following season and became a troublesome presence in the locker room. He signed a one-year deal with Kansas City Chiefs last year but gained only 309 yards in a truly back up role to Jamaal Charles.
However, if healthy and motivated, Hillis would be a useful back up to dynamic sophmore starter Doug Martin in Tampa Bay.
