The Detroit Lions’ offense wasn’t the same last year after
wide receiver Nate Burleson went down with an injury. For this reason, the team
is excited the veteran wide out has been able to recover from his broken leg
and rejoin the team. Matthew Stafford had nothing but good things to say to Tim Twentyman of DetroitLions.com regarding his reliable target.
"He's a quick healer, man," Stafford said of Burleson. "Really from Day 1 of OTAs (he) has come on and looked really good. He couldn't do the quantity as he can now. Now, he's full go all the time and is ready to go. He looks great and that's been a big plus for us having him healthy going into this offseason. It helps us keep our stride."
Lions head coach Jim Schwartz backed up Stafford’s
sentiment, saying that Burleson “means a lot” to the team. The coach added that
Burleson probably isn’t 100-percent at this point, but by the time training
camp rolls around the veteran aim to be.
