 After only one year on the team, the Bills have parted ways with DE/OLB Mark Anderson. This move leaves $4,600,000 of dead money on the Bills payroll over the next two seasons. 2013: $1,600,000. 2014: $3,000,000.
Mark Anderson is journey-man whose eight years in the league has been spent on the Bears, Texans, Patriots, and Bills. As a rookie in Chicago, Anderson was considered a breakout 5th-round-pick recording 12 sacks and 4 forced fumbles. His career seemed quite until 2011 when he was signed by the Patriots as a change-of-pace defensive end behind pro-bowler Andre Carter. Anderson took over full-time in week 15 when Carter was placed on IR. In the final three regular season games, and three playoff starts Anderson recorded 5.5 sacks.

The Patriots were not willing to shell out the money to keep him going into 2012, but the Bills were quick to ink him to a solid contract. Anderson only played 5 games in 2012 where he had just one sack.

It will be interesting to see how this shakes up the free agent market; especially with DE John Abraham still floating around. As injuries occur in training camp and preseason, I'm sure teams won't hesitate to reach out to Mark. Some teams such as Chicago and New England may have interest in bringing the veteran back to add an older, leadership presence to the teams' front 7.

Fantasy Impact: Anderson could add a buff to any NFL pass-rush. If he's plugged into the right system, I'd expect him to record eight sacks in 2013.
