There are only a few veteran wide receivers remaining on the
free agent market, and the Washington Redskins grabbed two of them yesterday,
signing Donte’ Stallworth and Devery Henderson, the team has announced.
Stallworth is a former first-round pick of the New Orleans
Saints. He’s since spent time with several teams, including the New England
Patriots and the Redskins for 11 games in 2011. Henderson was also drafted by
the Saints, as he was a second-round selection. Both he and Stallworth didn’t
receive much in the way of interest this offseason.
While Stallworth and Henderson have become relatively
household names over the years, neither is expected to be on the team’s final
roster entering Week 1. The only way that either player will likely be with the
Redskins into the regular season is if another wide receiver suffers an injury.
