Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew missed
a large part of last year after undergoing season-ending Lisfranc surgery.
While the procedure can hold players out for significant periods of time, Jones-Drew
is confident that he’ll be healed by the time training camp rolls around. In
fact, the former All-Pro rusher told The Florida Times-Union that his foot “feels
great.”
“The foot feels great,’’ he said.
It’s hard to believe that Jones-Drew has only played in five
games since December of 2011. He led the league in rushing in 2011, but he was
limited by his foot injury last year. It’s not clear what the future holds for Jones-Drew
in Jacksonville, but for the time being it’s clear that he is focused on
returning healthy and as the productive player we all remember.
