There is some question as to whether or not Tampa Bay
Buccaneers cornerback Darrelle Revis will be ready to go when Week 1 of the
regular season rolls around. However, Bucs general manager Mark Dominik doesn’t
seem worried, as he told NFL.com that he’s “totally confident” Revis will be
ready for the start of the season.
"Totally confident," Dominik said. "He's in great shape right now, he's running full speed, he's cutting, he's doing all the things we'd want him to do from a training standpoint, a rehabilitation standpoint. We're going to keep him at our pace, but the whole point is that he'll walk out to the first day of training camp, he'll have the pads on and he'll be ready hopefully for the Jets (in) Week 1. We're expecting that."
Revis is also “confident” that he’ll be a starter on the
field for Tampa Bay’s Sept. 8 contest against the New York Jets. He’s still
recovering from a significant knee injury that he suffered during Week 3 of
last season. The Bucs acquired the former All-Pro from the Jets earlier this
offseason.
While it looks like Revis will be ready to suit up for Week
1, it will be interesting to see what type of player he is returning from such
a significant injury.
