Isiaih Pead will not play in the season opener for the St. Louis Rams having been suspended for violating the NFL substance abuse policy. However, Jeff Fisher will stand by the player and keep him involved in training throughout pre-season and training camp:
Pead was a second-round draft pick who did not play much in his rookie year, yet the Rams structure believe in the upside of the player. Following the departure of Steven Jackson to the Atlanta Falcons, Pead is competing with Daryl Richardson, Zac Stacy and Terrance Ganaway for carries.

"Obviously, he has to suffer the consequences and miss the game, but I'm pleased with how he's bounced back and his professional approach to being a member of this team this year.
He's not going to be penalized as far as reps and carries during the preseason. We're getting ready for a long haul and we'll be without him for one week, which we understand, but it doesn't complicate things."
