Pittsburgh Steelers safety Ryan Clark is entering the final year of his current contract. While his future remains to be determined, if it were up to Clark he'd retire as a Steeler, according to Alan Robinson of The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

“This has always been a smart organization about letting guys go when they feel like they don't have what's left to be here,” Clark said. “So we'll see. But I want to finish my career here. I've found a home here.”Clark will turn 34 in October, and though his production hasn't dropped off there's still questions surrounding whether or not he'll be back with the team next season. For the first time since he joined the Steelers in 2006, the team selected a safety in the draft; fourth rounder Shamarko Thomas.
While Clark recently tested out his ability at ESPN as an analyst, he said he's planning on playing beyond the 2013 season.
“I want to be here. I would love to be a Steeler until I retire,” Clark said. “But I don't want this to be my last year. I did the ESPN thing because it's smart to do it. I didn't do it because I'm ready to stop playing football.”
Last season, Clark totaled 74 tackles and two interceptions. It will be interesting to see what the Steelers do with Clark after the season, but it's clear he hopes to return beyond 2013.
