The Washington Redskins are two weeks into OTAs, and
quarterback Robert Griffin III is ramping up his rehab. During yesterday’s
session, the quarterback completed a series of sprints from sideline to
sideline, according to Tarik El-Bashir of CSN Washington.
This is a positive step for Griffin, who’s continuing to
recover from surgery to repair his season-ending knee injury. Still, there are
more steps to be taken before the start of training camp, as Griffin still has
to be cleared for “explosive running.” Griffin said that he hopes to be cleared
to do that before camp so that he can prepare.
“This next month will be the month where I start doing the explosive sprinting and explosive cutting. It will be good to be doing that stuff … before camp so that I’m ready to go.”
Griffin has reportedly been impressive in his rehab, and his
new goal is to rejoin his team during training camp. Assuming there are no
setbacks, it would appear that he’s certainly on track to suit up for Week 1.
