Denver Broncos tight end Joel Dreessen will be out until
training camp after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his ailing knee,
according to Jeff Legwold of The Denver Post.
Dreessen’s knee surgery will sidelined him for the remainder
of the Broncos’ offseason workouts, including the team’s mandatory minicamp
that begins on June 11. Coach John Fox doesn’t seem to be overly worried about
the situation, as he characterized the operation as “just a little knee
procedure.”
"Just a little knee procedure, scope, done, just to clean it up," Fox said. "It's been a good deal for Julius."
Dreessen started 15
games for the Broncos last season, catching 41 passes. Julius is Julius Thomas,
who’s been lining up in Dreessen’s place. He was a fourth-round selection in
2011, but he’s been sidelined for most of his professional career due to
injuries.
