Free agent acquisition Kenny Phillips has sat out for Philadelphia
Eagles’ OTAs, as he continues to rest his left knee, according to Geoff Mosher
of CSN Philly.
Phillips’ knees have given him extensive issues during his
time in the NFL. He underwent microfracture surgery on his ailing left knee in
2009.
While Phillips isn’t expected to return to practice today,
he is expected back during the team’s final camp. This will go from June 4
through 6 and is a mandatory session that will wrap up the spring season.
When the Eagles signed Phillips from the New York Giants
this offseason, they were well aware of his injury history. The 26-year-old
missed nine games last year due to a right knee injury, but he claims that his
absence from OTAs this spring has simply been a precautionary measure.
