Ravens rumors: Baltimore could cut Rolando McClain

The Baltimore Ravens have said publicly that they believe linebacker Rolando McClain deserves a second chance, referring to his recent arrest. However, it sounds like the Ravens are still considering cutting ties with McClain, as Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reports that there is still a "real chance" that Baltimore releases the linebacker.

The Ravens signed McClain after he was released from the Oakland Raiders earlier this offseason. While his talent hasn't been questioned much since Oakland made him a high first-round draft pick a few years ago, he's had issues with coaches and the law.

Baltimore's agreement -- a one-year deal worth $700k -- with McClain includes no guarantees, and for this reason it would be extremely easy for the team to cut ties with him. The Ravens could wait until McClain's next court date -- July 9 -- to make a decision, as they should know more of his recent arrest for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
