Former Detroit Lions, and now free agent WR Titus Young was arrested early Sunday Morning for drunk driving. Sometime Sunday afternoon Young thought it'd be wise to try to reclaim his impounded Mustang by breaking into the tow-company's compound. Young was arrested again.
Titus Young - 23 years old from Boise State - was the 44th overall pick by the Detroit Lions in 2011. Playing side-by-side with some of the league's premier talent in Calvin Johnson and Nate Burleson, Young accumulated 81 catches for just under 1,000 yards in his two seasons in Detroit. He scored 10 touchdowns and only lost 1 fumble. Young was released by the Lions during the 2012 season and briefly signed with the St. Louis Rams before being released again. He remains without a contract.
From a non-football perspective, I hope that Young finds some guidance in his life. On a personal note, being only six months younger than the struggling WR from L.A., I know how difficult it can be to make a life changing turn-around so young. If Titus plants his feet, digs in, and makes some positive choices I'm sure he will find work again in the NFL.
