Since the New York Jets released quarterback Tim Tebow, NFL teams
haven’t exactly been lining up to sign the polarizing figure. While there’s
been a lack of interest from the NFL, Tebow has received attention from a few
semi-pro leagues, and it appears that the Philadelphia Soul are the latest to
extend an offer, according to The Philadelphia Daily News (via Pro Football Talk).

What could make the Soul especially intriguing is that they
are owned by former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Ron Jaworski. Still, the
offer may not be enticing to Tebow considering the invitation is to play behind
starting quarterback Dan Raudabaugh.
Soul coach Clint Dolezal sent Tebow several plays that would
have him involved in sets near the end zone. Jaworski believes the arena league
could be good for Tebow in that it would force him to get quicker with his
release.“One [criticism] of Tebow is that he is slow and methodical,” Jaworski said. “He would be forced to quicken it up in this league and it would be good training for him. You can learn a lot in this league. It’s about processing information and getting the ball out … or you get whacked.”
Tebow and his camp haven’t commented on the offer. He’ll
continue holding out hope of landing a job as camp continues, but it will be
interesting to see if Tebow will turn elsewhere for a quarterback role if it’s
not provided to him by an NFL team.
